IV LASCAS (LATIN AMERICAN SYMPOSIUM ON CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS)
LASCAS 2013 goal is to be the International Symposium of IEEE Circuits and
Systems in Latin America. Its fourth edition will take place in Cusco, Peru.
Cusco is a “must to see” location in Latin America, the gateway to Machu Picchu.

El Centro Andino de Investigación y Entrenamiento en Informática para la Salud Global "QUIPU" de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) y el Centro de Investigación de Enfermedades Tropicales de la Marina de los EEUU (NAMRU-6) están ofreciendo el curso libre titulado "Integridad Científica". Este es un curso teórico-práctico donde se revisarán los diferentes aspectos relacionados a la integridad científica. Se introducirán módulos específicos sobre Mala Conducta Científica (MCC), Plagio, Conflictos de Interés, Mentoría, Autoría y Publicación Responsable. Se presentarán estudios de casos por cada tema, los cuales serán planteados a través de paneles de discusión.
El curso es completamente GRATUITO y está dirigido a la comunidad científica en general. En caso se superen los cupos disponibles, se dará preferencia a alumnos y ex alumnos de programas académicos de la UPCH. Se llevará a cabo los sábados 27 de octubre y 03 de noviembre del 2012, de 8.30 am a 1.00pm, y la asistencia es obligatoria. Se entregará un CERTIFICADO DE PARTICIPACIÓN, mas el curso no tendrá creditaje alguno. La fecha máxima de inscripción es el lunes 22 de octubre. Para inscripciones, favor contactar a la Dra. nanoREPU - Oportunidad para estudiantes peruanos en EEUU
The nano Research Experience for Peruvian Undergrads (nanoREPU) is designed for Peruvian undergraduate students seeking degrees in electrical engineering (EE), mechanical engineering (ME), physics (PHYS), material science (MS) or related fields at Peruvian institutions. These students should have a strong interest in attending graduate school and pursuing a career in research.
Selected students will participate in a 3 to 6 months internship in which they will do intense research addressing fundamental problems in nanoelectronics and nanophysics of new 2D materials such as graphene, topological insulators and MoS2 at participating laboratories at Purdue University in West Lafayette Indiana (as the Birck nanotechnology Center,www.nano.purdue.edu).
